"I am very pleased to see a company of such high standards in our country. It is this kind of investment that Laos needs. It is also great to see the words ‘Made in Laos’ in your products".
There were many praises during the visit to MASCOT® Laos by the Laos' First Lady, Keosaychay Sayasone.
The entourage included the Prime Minister's wife, Bouathong Thammavong and about 50 other wives of Ministers and Senior Officials.
The First Lady inspected a couple of MASCOT Laos' busy production lines, as well as the new cutting room and asked staff about working conditions and the training programs MASCOT has launched in Laos.
MASCOT’s medical clinic and health program made a good impression on the delegation. The First Lady spoke with MASCOT’s medical and canteen manager, about how we work to ensure the best possible conditions for the almost 500 employees in MASCOT Laos.
"MASCOT is, in all ways, an example that other investors should follow" said the First Lady.
She also aims to ensure that the Laotian authorities meet investor expectations. MASCOT Laos' director Thomas Bo Pedersen replied: "From day one we have experienced a unique accommodation by the Laotian authorities. It took just three days for an investment license, and that set the pace for the other approval procedures in the project phase. We are experiencing an extremely good investment climate in Laos," explained Thomas Bo Pedersen.
