Here is some practical info on how to apply for a job at MASCOT. Some general tips to help you with your application follow this.
It is no longer possible to send an application directly by email or post. We only accept applications made using our electronic recruiting system. This is to ensure that we comply with the personal data protection act.
You can find our vacancies by clicking on "Current job vacancies" on our website and send your application by clicking on the link for the job vacancy you are interested in.
You can also use the link to send an unsolicited application. Go to 'Login', choose new user and enter a user name and password. Click on 'Accept' and enter your data on the following page. By attaching your CV you can avoid entering your data in the fields for 'previous experience etc. Click on 'Save' when you are finished. You can always return later on if you wish to change any of your data.
MASCOT will not contact your present employer prior to your consent. Supplying references in your application however is regarded as your consent for us to contact the relevant party. Before a job contract is signed, MASCOT will obtain more references. These can be references that have not been supplied by you (but not from your present employer).
You will be asked to register your email address. This will be the address that we use for any future contact with you. We recommend therefore, that you use a private email address.
When making an electronic application, you can upload file attachments to our system. The files must be in PDF, JPG or Microsoft Office format.
Editing, updating or erasing of data:
You can review, edit, update or erase your data at any time by logging into our system with your user name and password.
Tips for your application
Be well prepared
Do yourself a favour by learning about the company before sending your application - both for your own sake and ours. This will give your application more credibility and increase your chances of being taken into consideration. A good place to start is on our Home Page.
Write concisely and precisely.
We receive a lot of applications for our job ads. You must therefore be quick and precise when selling yourself. The actual application should be no more than one page long. We would like to get a quick impression of who you are. Make it easy to read: Avoid using abbreviations and technical jargon. Your CV will not (usually!) be read by engineers and programmers.
Write a personal application
Go out of your way to avoid writing a standard application. Add your own personal touch to the application. This will make it stand out from the others and show us who YOU are. Be true to your own style and approach, both in language and in form. Think of your CV as being a "living document" and adapt it to the type of jobs you apply for.
Why should we choose you?
Use your application to explain why you are applying for the job, what you have to offer and YOUR vision for the job. We want to feel that you are passionate about the job and that it is exactly your labour we need. Find all of your skills: You can make a "gross list" for example
Upload any relevant attachments.
In the advert it will usually say which things you have to send with the application. Upload the relevant attachments relevant for the job - and only the relevant. If we need anything else we will ask you to bring it with you to a potential interview.
How well do you fit with the requirements in the vacancy?
A good application relates actively and specifically to the requirements shown. Avoid repeating the content of your CV but carefully choose one or two relevant experiences that fit with the requirements of the job. Argue your choice: If you've had lots of different jobs it doesn't necessarily mean that you are unstable - argue your reasons!
Check your application before you send it
Always check your application one last time to avoid incorrect information, typos or the like. It would be a shame to have an error in an otherwise perfect application. Get your network to help you: Get someone else to proofread and assess your CV's design.
Keep to deadlines
In short: Apply before the deadline expiry date; preferably well before, as we often start to look through the applications before the final deadline. Remember to write the date on the application. You can always update your application if you need to modify your CV.
